god willing and the creek don't rise
This year we watched the Kentucky Derby at the local pizza/Mexican restaurant up at the cabin. Yeah, you heard me— whatever. It’s the closest we were going to get to a Cinco de Mayo party and they have a flatscreen, so we could watch the horsies while we were working on our nachos and margaritas. It’ll be a tough act to follow, but next year I’m going to get myself to Churchill Downs in person. Life is short and there are too many cute hats in the world…
I’m not a big hot-air-ballooner, but I would go see this. It’s the Great Balloon Race at the Kentucky Derby Festival.
Pretty and deliciously refreshing, Mint Juleps.
Giddyup.
Supposedly, the best pick-me-up for the morning after the run-in with the Bourbon and Mint Juleps.
God willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll see you at the races.
