+ The Hearth

The Heart+H

Many people say the kitchen is the heart of the home.  I say it’s the fireplace.  Below are projects that I’ve worked on and love.
In the cabin below, the original fireplace was left standing while the old cabin went down and the new one went up.  Aside from being a fun project, this is one of the sweetest, most lovable cabins I know.    Fireplace
In the photo below, this young family was up for anything and ended up with one of the best entertaining spots I’ve ever seen…did I mention there’s a pool table with a wrap around drink rail, bar/kitchen, and a super funky wine cellar in this room too? Oh, and a sauna? Oh, and Big Buck Hunter? If you’re good, someday I’ll show you those pictures.
The following two photos are from a cabin in Crosslake, Minnesota.   Although a new build, by using reworked antiques for almost every light fixture, door knob, heating vent, and light switch,  the homeowners were able to recreate a vintage Crosslake cabin .   Every room in this home should be in a book.
I’ll just admit it.  This is my fireplace at my cabin in Crosslake, Minnesota.  And it’s where I wanna be.
You know what I’m gonna say, but I’ll say it anyway.
Thank you for being here.

  • If I had a fireplace that beautiful, I’d want to be there too! Thanks for sharing Michelle.
